How Is KR 4.3 tracking?
Our Lands KR is targeted to safeguard 30 percent of the world’s lands by 2030, and 50 percent by 2050. That’s a prodigious stretch goal from the 18 percent now protected.
We focus on our largest long-term storehouses of carbon: peatlands, wetlands, grasslands, and permafrost. These natural sinks capture and sequester greenhouse gases for tens of thousands of years.
