How Is KR 8.5 Tracking?
We can track an equitable transition to net zero by keeping tabs on health outcomes around the world. Our Health Equity key result aims to close the chasm in pollution–related mortality rates among racial and economic groups.
Equity in health outcomes and mortality rates can be addressed through strong climate action. Our sector KRs—closing coal plants, switching cars and trucks to electric, electrifying stoves and heat within homes—address this challenge.
The goal is to eliminate the gaps among racial and socioeconomic groups in greenhouse gas-related mortality rates by 2040.
Data for KR 8.5 is sourced from the Air Quality Life Index, which updates annually to track how air quality is affecting racial and socioeconomic groups on a population level.
