How Is KR 8.4 Tracking?
The Speed & Scale Plan seeks environmental justice by closing gaps among racial and socioeconomic groups, beginning with the principle that education is a basic human right.
By seeking to assure universal education through age 18 for every citizen of the world, we can help all young adults gain the chance to succeed in life.
Closing the education gap has the most dramatic impact on women and girls, who are also the most vulnerable to the worst effects of droughts, displacement, and food and water scarcity. Each added year of secondary school increases a girl’s future earnings by 15 to 25 percent.
Around the globe, more than 129 million girls are now being denied the fundamental right to go to school. We are tracking this inequity with the aim of cutting that number to zero by 2040.
