How Is KR 9.4 Tracking?

Our Carbon Removal KR focuses on innovating solutions for extracting CO2 from the air and then containing it for centuries. Finding places to store that vast amount of carbon safely is a monumental challenge.

Even so, scaling carbon removal is a cornerstone of our plan to get to net zero by 2050. The immediate goal is to lower the cost to less than $100 a ton. As purchasing expands, innovation will drive down costs.

As Bill Gates says: “If somebody comes along who can do direct air capture for fifty dollars a ton, that would be really phenomenal. If you got it down to twenty-five dollars, it would be one of the largest single contributions to solving climate change that we have ever seen.”
