How Is KR 3.3 Tracking?
Cows are the single largest source of emissions in the global food system. Our Cows KR aims to cut emissions from the production of livestock—and cattle in particular—by reducing consumption of beef and dairy products. We also need to improve manure management, and to use alternative feedstocks to limit emissions from the cow’s digestive system.
In the U.S., the world’s biggest beef consumer, the average person eats more than a pound per week, along with more than 5 pounds of cheese and other dairy products.
To shift consumer demand away from these high-emissions proteins, we need to make plant-based alternatives tastier, healthier, and more affordable.
